Written but not yet ready for your readers? Wouldn’t it be nice to know that your text is the very best version of itself? I’ll help you get from draft form to final version, all the time keeping your audience front of mind.

No editor or proofreader should promise perfection (that’s a red flag if you spot it, including with AI); my approach is focused on making your writing its best self — for you and your audience. That means shaping and polishing your words into something you feel super-proud of and making sure there are no barriers to people engaging with what you’ve written.

I’m known for seeing the forest, the trees, and the leaves: understanding your overall aims and combining this with my excellent attention to detail. My experience includes:

Whatever the length of your text, it needs care and precision to be publish-ready, whether digital or print. I’ve edited brand taglines as short as 3 words, books as long as 300,000, and everything in between.

I make all edits in the spirit of collaboration and recommendation, meaning you get the final say on how things should read.

Copyediting

Clarity, accuracy, consistency, conscious language, readability, and flow are key to ensuring your audience feels welcome and engaged. I take care of all of these in a copyedit, zooming in and out (both metaphorically and literally!) to make sure your writing is achieving your aims and working at a sentence level. I’ll apply your house style guide if you have one, or I can recommend a style to suit your tone of voice.

Proof-editing

Maybe you’ve edited your text already, but you want to be sure it’s in as error-free as possible before it moves to the next stage. Proofediting is the perfect option if things are in pretty good shape already, but you know there may still be a bit of work to do. I’ll check everything ahead of layout, or in tandem with your designer, making things speedy and stress-free for you (and your designers).

Proofreading

I’ll smooth out those bumps in spelling, grammar, formatting, styling, and more, making everything ready for your readers. Putting words out into the world should feel like a real accomplishment, and I’m on a mission to make it an embarrassment-free zone. Typos, mistakes, errors, and accidents are all welcome here — I’ll correct them with kindness and care, ensuring you feel happy and proud of your project.
